True Self
Don' t Repress, Express Your
Your worth was never the problem.
The systems were.
So many women have been taught to believe their struggles with worth are personal failures.
Not confident enough.
Not faithful enough.
Not pure enough.
Not obedient enough.
Not selfless enough.
Not enough.
But women’s struggles with worth do not happen in isolation.
They are shaped by centuries of patriarchy, sexism, religious oppression, shame-based theology, purity culture, and spiritual systems that taught women to seek permission outside themselves before trusting the Divine within.
When we talk about worth, we must also talk about systems.
Because healing is not only personal.
Healing is historical.
Healing is spiritual.
Healing is political.
Healing is collective.
Healing is a form of liberation.
“The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off.”
- Gloria Steinem, Activist
I write to uncover what was hidden and remember what was never lost.
Rooted in Worth was born from my own search for truth. As I studied Christian history, women’s spirituality, feminist theology, religious trauma, and social justice, I began to see what had been hidden in plain sight: many of the beliefs women inherited about their worth are patriarchal interpretations shaped by power, control, dogma, doctrine, and male religious authority. The deconstruction of my religious upbringing did not destroy my spirituality. It liberated it.
My work exists for women who are ready to untangle their worth from shame, guilt, fear, purity culture, religious conditioning, and systems that depend on women not trusting themselves. Through research, writing, storytelling, and spiritual activism, I help illuminate a path back to the wisdom that was never gone — only buried.
I'm a writer who believes women’s stories can heal what history has tried to erase. I bring together research, theology, history, personal narrative, and spiritual reflection to help women see that their pain is not proof that something is wrong with them. Often, it is proof that something was wrong with the systems that shaped them.
For centuries, women have been taught to distrust their bodies, silence their voices, submit their authority, and call it faith.
Rooted in Worth exists to tell a truer story.
Through research, writing, Christian herstory, feminist theology, and spiritual activism, this space helps women reclaim their worth, deconstruct harmful indoctrinated beliefs, and reconstruct their spiritual autonomy from the inside out.
It is embodied.
Much of my work names the emotional, spiritual, and psychological impact of patriarchal religious systems. This includes naming spiritual harm, religious shame, fear-based theology, and the ways women are taught to disconnect from their bodies, emotions, voices, and power.
At the heart of my work is the sacred worth of women and the ways religious, cultural, and patriarchal systems have shaped how women see themselves. My work explores how women can reclaim the truth that their worth was never something they had to earn, prove, or perform for.
Feminist theology and women’s spirituality shape the foundation of my writing. I research and challenge patriarchal interpretations of God, scripture, sin, authority, embodiment, and spiritual leadership while honoring women’s lived experiences as sacred sources of wisdom.
Christian herstory guides my research and writing as I explore the women, stories, teachings, and spiritual lineages that have been minimized, distorted, or erased from Christian history. My work seeks to recover hidden truths and bring forward the voices and wisdom that patriarchal religion attempted to silence.
Spiritual autonomy is central to my writing because women deserve the freedom to know, trust, and belong to themselves. This includes exploring intuition, inner wisdom, spiritual authority, and the freedom to question, reconstruct, and define one’s relationship with the Divine.
My writing understands spirituality as a force for liberation, justice, and cultural transformation. This work connects personal healing with collective change, showing how women’s voices, stories, research, and lived experiences can challenge oppressive systems and help create a more loving and equitable world.
“Let your very existence be an act of rebellion.”
- Jessica Nuñez LaMarre
For too long, women have been told that truth lives outside of them — in institutions, doctrines, traditions, religious authorities, and interpretations created without them.
But women’s lived experiences matter.
Our bodies know.
Our grief knows.
Our anger knows.
Our intuition knows.
Our stories know.
Our longing for freedom knows.
At Rooted in Worth, women’s experiences are not dismissed as emotional, rebellious, sinful, dramatic, or too much.
They are honored as wisdom.
Because every woman who tells the truth about what harmed her helps reconstruct a more honest spiritual future for those who come after her.
